Thanks to the children of the Simsbury First Church of Christ in Simsbury, Connecticut, who held a mock medical clinic to raise money for a motorcycle ambulance for the Faith Mulira Health Care Centre in Masooli, Uganda. Besides learning about Africa, the children learned the all-important lesson that — “when you give, you get back more.”

While not as sophisticated as the kind of ambulance we are accustomed to in the United States, the motorcycle ambulance provides peace of mind to patients across Masooli who might otherwise have no way to reach emergency care.

The children from St. Thomas the Apostle elementary school in West Hartford, Connecticut raised $2,000 for the purchase of mosquito nets to benefit the children of Masooli. This is the fourth consecutive year in which the St. Thomas children have raised money to benefit schools in Uganda and the Faith Mulira Health Care Centre.
